Paul was raised and educated in Milton, MA completing a BA in Physics at Holy Cross in 1969. Although he was awarded a teaching fellowship at MIT/Boston University, the Air Force trumped his decision sending him to pilot training in Arizona instead. He served as a reconnaissance pilot/aircraft commander in Vietnam where he completed over 100 missions and was awarded the DFC and two oak leaf clusters. After his base was overrun, he escaped through Cambodia, Laos and Thailand and was the only one of his crew of eight to finally return home alive in 1973. He ended his service with a tour at Travis AFB where he settled with wife, Debby, and started their family.
After a short stint selling medical and surgical supplies, Paul decided that the real estate opportunities in Vacaville drove his curiosity and passion. He obtained his real estate brokers license and formed Vacaville Realty and Investment in 1976. He earned his CCIM designation in 1979 and started doing commercial development in 1980. He served as President of the local Board of Realtors in 1984 and in 2014. He currently works at McGuire Capital Real Estate for daughter, Shea, and sons, Tom and Mark. Son, Paul, and his wife, Sundance, represent another side of the service community as firefighter/paramedic and surgical physician’s assistant.
Paul has always been involved with the community, serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce; founding member and board president of the Children’s Network of Solano County; founding member and board president of Opportunity House, the local homeless shelter; helped build Notre Dame elementary school and served several terms as their board president.
Always striving for balance in life, Paul is also an avid golfer and tennis player, attempting to pass on these passions to his six grandchildren who live near by.
